Welcome

Welcome to my family's Disney blog. I am a 30 year old Disney addict, married to a 29 year old Disney addict (he may not admit that though), and the mom to two little girls that are growing up to follow in their Disney addict momma's footsteps. I am constantly looking up anything and everything Disney, so I thought I would create this blog to share with my family and friends all the fun Disney things we do and find.

Happy Mad Hatter Day!

Today is 10/6! The numbers that are on the Mad Hatters hat on Alice in Wonderland. I had no idea what the numbers meant until today and I have found 2 different explanations.
The first explanation is that the card is a price tag in 'old' English money: pounds, shillings and pennies, which was then written as l/s/d.  Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland, has explained the meaning of the tag in The Nursery Alice. The Hatter used to carry about hats to sell: and even the one that he's got on his head is meant to be sold. You see it's got its price marked on it - a "10" and a "6" - that means "ten shillings and sixpence."
I think I like this next explanation better, haha! Mad Hatter Day is the "second silly day" of the year (the first being April Fool's Day) and is celebrated on 10/6 (October 6 in the United States; June 10 in Britain).

Either way though.....Happy Mad Hatter Day to YOU!!

Change of plans

Well Disney offered a discount for when we will be there and we have had to change our plans up a little bit. The discount doesn't start until January 2nd and we have already bought are plane tickets to fly to Orlando on the 1st. The discount also excludes the Art of Animation Little Mermaid rooms, so I decided that we will stay our first night in the Little Mermaid room and then switch to the All Star Movie Resort on the 2nd, so we can take advantage of the discount and still see the Little Mermaid room. We are going to end up saving a little over $400 by doing this. I am pretty excited about seeing 2 different resorts this trip.

Edited: Called back on 10/10/12 when Disney offered the discount to the public and we ended up saving $800! So very excited about this!

Here is the All Star Movie Resort.

A Bugs Life

Last night we had a Disney movie night. I had originally planned on doing one a week a few months ago, but that didn't work out. I am hoping since our trip is only 13 weeks away that we can start doing one once a week.
Our movie this week was "A Bugs Life". There is a 3D film at the Animal Kingdom of a it that is so cute! It is one of my favorite things about that park.
I couldn't think of a theme for the food, so we did Bug Juice and sour gummy worms. The girls enjoyed it.

Hello 80's!

Out of the 90's into the 80's! 89 days to go until we check in the Art of Animation Little Mermaid room!

My kids are going to love staying here!

Halloween Minnie Mouse

A super sweet lady picked me up a Halloween Minnie Mouse at her local CVS store. I just love it! This picture does not even come close to showing how cute she is. She has a little trick or treat bag in her hand with a pumpkin on it.

Mickey Cheese

While grocery shopping with my youngest daughter yesterday, we found Mickey cheese! You would have that it was the most amazing thing she has ever seen. She screamed, "Momma, it's Mickey" at the top of her lungs and I'm pretty sure everyone in the store heard her. It was precious. Of course we had to buy it. :)
