Welcome

Welcome to my family's Disney blog. I am a 30 year old Disney addict, married to a 29 year old Disney addict (he may not admit that though), and the mom to two little girls that are growing up to follow in their Disney addict momma's footsteps. I am constantly looking up anything and everything Disney, so I thought I would create this blog to share with my family and friends all the fun Disney things we do and find.

Kingdom Keepers

There is a book series called Kingdom Keepers, it is about Disney after dark. We got the first 3 to read and they are so good! I read a couple chapters out loud to my daughters every night and I don't want to stop. If I weren't reading them out loud, I would probably have all that are in the series, currently 5, read already. I hope they end up making movies out of the books. If you are a fan of Disney and love to read, it is something you should check out.

Be Our Guest

I have known for several months that there was going to be a new restaurant in Belle's castle. Well today Disney opened up reservations for it. Be Our Guest is going to officially be open on November 19th and I can not wait to try it out. We had originally planned on eating lunch there the same day we are going to eat dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table, but I wanted both of the restaurants to be very special and have there own days, so we are eating dinner there on our last night.

The restaurant does not feature character dining. It does, however, contain three separate highly-decorated wings in which visitors can dine, all inspired by locations within Beast’s castle as seen in the “Beauty and the Beast”. Guests can’t reserve a specific area but are free to stop by the restaurant before their reserved time to make such a request. Some seats will feature a fireworks view. I am really hoping that we get the ballroom. :)

Favorite Restaurants

When we go to Disney we always do the dining plan that they offer to guests who are staying on Disney property. I think Disney has some of the best restaurants.

When we went last time we tried out a steak house in Epcot, Le Celliar. It was so good that we ended up eating there twice that trip. My mouth waters just thinking about how good it was. We also ate at the Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios and Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort. I had very high expectations for both and was a little disappointed in them. Chef Mickey's had a great atmosphere and I'm so glad we did it for the girls, but the food was very mediocre for it being a Disney restaurant. My husband had talked about taking me to eat at the Brown Derby for years, but I was not impressed, especially for the price.

The absolute highlight of dining for that trip was getting to eat dinner at Cinderella's Castle. It was honestly a dream come true for the girls and myself. Everything about that dinning experience was so magical and the food was great.

We were able to make our reservations for our upcoming trip about 5 weeks ago and I'm so excited to try out some new places. We booked Planet Hollywood, Liberty Tree Tavern, Sci-Fi Dine-In, Tusker House, Ohana, Le Celliar, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Akershus.

There is a new restaurant that is going to be opening up in a few months called Be Our Guest, it is in Belle's castle. You can start making reservations for it tomorrow and I'm really hoping we are going to be able to eat dinner there one night. I know my girls would just love it. We are big fans of Beauty and the Beast.

If you have ever been to Disney, what is your favorite place to eat at?

Chef Mickey's. We really enjoyed meeting the characters.

Introduction

I created this blog to keep up with anything and everything Disney.

The first time I went to Disney World I was 27 and my daughters were 4 and 21 months. My husband had gone several times when he was younger and knew what to expect, I had no idea. I had dreamt of taking my kids for a few years and once we were finally able to go, my Disney obsession began. The first time I saw the Cinderella's Castle I cried, actually I cried a lot that trip. Everything is just so magical.

We have our next trip booked and are planning a surprise trip for our kids, we aren't telling them until the day we leave. I have it all planned out in my head how we are going to tell them. I hope it works out the way I want it to.

My children talk about Disney World every single day, they know that we are going back, but don't know that it is going to be sooner rather than later. My youngest one constantly asks if she is tall enough to ride the "thrill" rides and my oldest is constantly telling me which "thrill" rides she will not be riding. Haha!
