Welcome

Welcome to my family's Disney blog. I am a 30 year old Disney addict, married to a 29 year old Disney addict (he may not admit that though), and the mom to two little girls that are growing up to follow in their Disney addict momma's footsteps. I am constantly looking up anything and everything Disney, so I thought I would create this blog to share with my family and friends all the fun Disney things we do and find.

Air Freshener

I ordered a few things from the Disney Store and they had a code that if you ordered any park authentic item you would receive free shipping on your entire order.
I ordered this cute air freshener to receive the shipping for free. It smells like a candy apple. My girls love it hanging in the car.

70 Days!

We are down to 70 days until we are at Disney World and 69 days until our vacation begins! YIPEE!! After we hit 100 days the time is just flying by.

Disney Movie Night

Tonight it's "Dumbo", with hot dogs, nachos, and cotton candy. I also surprised the girls with a Dumbo book and necklace. I think this has been our favorite movie night so far.

Pumpkin Carving

Baylee and I were the only 2 home last night, so I decided to have a little extra fun with her and let her go ahead and carve her pumpkin. She told me that she wanted a Minnie pumpkin and this is what we came up with.

It turned out better than we thought it would! Now my 8 year old is not to happy with me, but we will come up with something for her, lol!

Haunted Mansion

Tonight was the perfect night to watch The Haunted Mansion. It is one of our favorite Halloween movies and one of our favorite rides at Disney World. I fixed hot chocolate and Mickey pumpkin cookies with it.

80 days!!

Our countdown is at 80 days!! Oh my goodness! I can't believe we will be in the 70's tomorrow and my girls still don't know. The excitment is killing me!

Minnie Socks

I am a huge fan of the $1 bins at Target. Sunday I snagged these super cute Minnie Mouse cupcake socks for my youngest daughter. I also found some little Minnie tins that are perfect for my girls crayons.

Movie Night

Last night we had our weekly, or try to do weekly anyways, movie night. The girls picked Princess and the Frog so I fixed Jambalaya with it. If you aren't familiar with Princess and the Frog, the main character, Tiana, wants to open a restaurant in New Orleans and fix Jambalaya and Gumbo. It is a super cute movie! One of our favorites! I have never fixed Jambalaya before and wasn't sure if any of us would like it, but it was so good! I served it with cornbread and beans. Yummy! I'm thinking next week we might do Dumbo for our movie night. I can make that one fun! =)

Mickey inflatable

Look what came in the mail today!

Today was a good mail day for me! I love it when I pull into the driveway and see packages sitting under my carport, haha!
A sweet lady on facebook found this for me at her local Walgreens and shipped it to me. I love it!

New movies

I found some great deals on Disney DVD's yesterday. We were able to add Hercules and The Haunted Mansion to our collection. I can not believe we didn't own The Haunted Mansion, it is one of our favorites. Our new movies also came with a pumpkin carving stencil set and Halloween Disney stickers. I 0wanted to do a Haunted Mansion movie tonight, but daddy is working and wants to watch it with us. :)
What is your favorite Disney Halloween movie? We also love Tower of Terror. They had yesterday, but it has been a part of our collection for a long time.

Halloween treats

I found the girls treats this weekend for their class Halloween party. As much as I'd love to make their treats, everything must be store bought. We found these boxes of cheese puffs for $4.99 a box and they have 35 in a box. Of course my kids classes combined have 36 kids, haha. We grabbed 2 boxes and I'm sure the extra 34 packages will have no problem be eaten. I thought about putting a couple packages in the girls Halloween buckets and then putting some back to take to our trip to Disney World. I might also pass some out at our house on Halloween.

Happy Mad Hatter Day!

Today is 10/6! The numbers that are on the Mad Hatters hat on Alice in Wonderland. I had no idea what the numbers meant until today and I have found 2 different explanations.
The first explanation is that the card is a price tag in 'old' English money: pounds, shillings and pennies, which was then written as l/s/d.  Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland, has explained the meaning of the tag in The Nursery Alice. The Hatter used to carry about hats to sell: and even the one that he's got on his head is meant to be sold. You see it's got its price marked on it - a "10" and a "6" - that means "ten shillings and sixpence."
I think I like this next explanation better, haha! Mad Hatter Day is the "second silly day" of the year (the first being April Fool's Day) and is celebrated on 10/6 (October 6 in the United States; June 10 in Britain).

Either way though.....Happy Mad Hatter Day to YOU!!

Change of plans

Well Disney offered a discount for when we will be there and we have had to change our plans up a little bit. The discount doesn't start until January 2nd and we have already bought are plane tickets to fly to Orlando on the 1st. The discount also excludes the Art of Animation Little Mermaid rooms, so I decided that we will stay our first night in the Little Mermaid room and then switch to the All Star Movie Resort on the 2nd, so we can take advantage of the discount and still see the Little Mermaid room. We are going to end up saving a little over $400 by doing this. I am pretty excited about seeing 2 different resorts this trip.

Edited: Called back on 10/10/12 when Disney offered the discount to the public and we ended up saving $800! So very excited about this!

Here is the All Star Movie Resort.

A Bugs Life

Last night we had a Disney movie night. I had originally planned on doing one a week a few months ago, but that didn't work out. I am hoping since our trip is only 13 weeks away that we can start doing one once a week.
Our movie this week was "A Bugs Life". There is a 3D film at the Animal Kingdom of a it that is so cute! It is one of my favorite things about that park.
I couldn't think of a theme for the food, so we did Bug Juice and sour gummy worms. The girls enjoyed it.

Hello 80's!

Out of the 90's into the 80's! 89 days to go until we check in the Art of Animation Little Mermaid room!

My kids are going to love staying here!

Halloween Minnie Mouse

A super sweet lady picked me up a Halloween Minnie Mouse at her local CVS store. I just love it! This picture does not even come close to showing how cute she is. She has a little trick or treat bag in her hand with a pumpkin on it.

Mickey Cheese

While grocery shopping with my youngest daughter yesterday, we found Mickey cheese! You would have that it was the most amazing thing she has ever seen. She screamed, "Momma, it's Mickey" at the top of her lungs and I'm pretty sure everyone in the store heard her. It was precious. Of course we had to buy it. :)

Epcot's 30th Anniversary

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the opening of Epcot. Epcot is a wonderful park!
My favorite ride there is Soarin and I love walking around World Showcase at night and seeing all the different countries. You truly feel like you are there. My favorite restaurant at Epcot is Le Cellier in Canada, it has the most amazing filet mignon. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Happy 30th Anniversary Epcot!

3 Months!

I can not believe it is already October and Halloween is upon us! This is one of my very favorite times of the year!
In just 3 months we will be at the most magical place in the world! Woo Hoo! I am so thankful that we have lots of fun fall activities and Christmas activities to keep us busy until then! The time has gone by so fast and I can only imagine how fast these next 3 months are going to go by. I still can't believe we've kept it a secret from our kids!
